TECH.TONIC, Bad Advice's Newest Event Project

 

This weekend, check out my pals at Bad Advice!

Their new event, called Tech.Tonic features DJs Savile & Olin, Kiddo, Antiphase, Merrick Brown, and Duke Shin. It all takes place at an old haunt of mine, Katacombs, which recently got a much-needed facelift. I hear the audio system is much-improved as well.

U.S. Federal CIO on 2013 IT Forecast

 

Camille Tuutti's recent article regarding President Obama's 2013 budget proposal discussed enlightening revelations about federal IT spending trends, as well the administration's ideas on stimulating innovation while remaining fiscally responsible. Federal CIO Steven VanRoekel held a press conference regarding the spending trends on Feb. 13.

The Obama administration is calling for a minor (1.2 %) decrease in federal IT spending in FY 2013. The lion's share of funded projects target future savings based on efficiency and cost-sharing. The Defense Department will see a drop of 3.6 % percent, the largest among federal agencies.
